Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered around 23.28% polling till 11.00 am in the first phase of elections in the state on Monday. Voting is underway at four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly constituencies in the state.
As per reports from the office of the Odisha Chief Election Officer (CEO), Nuapada witnessed the highest voter turnout at 27.88%, while Rayagada recorded the lowest at 21%. The voting at Mohana and Nabarangpur was 21.47% and 21.50% respectively. Similarly, Narla, Paralakhemundi, Patanga, and Umerkote recorded 26.46%, 22.64%, 24.81%, and 26.20% respectively by 11.00 am today.
Voting is currently ongoing in districts including Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Nuapada in southern Odisha. A total of 37 candidates are in the fray for the Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Berhampur Lok Sabha seats, while 240 candidates are contesting the 28 Assembly seats under these four Lok Sabha constituencies.
