Bhubaneswar: Searing heatwave conditions continued to prevail in Odisha on Wednesday as mercury crossed 40°C and above in as many as 24 places in the State.
Similarly, 11 places recorded maximum day temperature of 42°C or above.
The State Capital-Bhubaneswar and Nuapada were the hottest places in the State recording maximum day temperature of 43.2°C.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that within the next 4 to 5 days temperature is likely to rise by 2-4°C.
The weather agency has warned that in the next 5 days some districts in the State are likely to experience severe heatwave and heatwave conditions.
