Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC), Odisha, is to publish fresh guidelines to conduct the panchayat polls amid the Covid-19 pandemic and to ensure a free, fair, and safe election.
Addressing media persons after an all-party meeting today, State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi said that the guidelines are to be prepared in line with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Representatives of all political parties had attended the meeting and have voiced their opinions on whether the panchayat elections are to be held or not in view of the present Covid-19 situation in the State.
