Bhubaneswar: Sizzling heat wave conditions prevailed in the State with maximum temperature reaching 43.4 degree Celsius in the western Odisha town of Titilagarh.
As many as eight places recorded temperatures of 40 degree Celsius and above today, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).
These places are Bolangir (42.4), Boudh (41.0), Sonepur (40.4), Bhawanipatna (40.5), Jharsuguda (40.5), Talcher (40.2), and Sundargarh (40.0).
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded maximum temperatures of 34.5 and 33.6 degree Celsius respectively.
The seaside town of Gopalpur was the coolest with 29.7 degree Celsius followed by Paradip at 32.1 and Puri at 32.4.
