Bhubaneswar: The District and Subordinate Courts across Odisha will commence morning sittings from April 6 (Monday), the High Court of Orissa has notified.
In a letter to all District & Sessions Judges, Luna Mohanty, Registrar (Administration) of the Orissa High Court, informed that the courts will function from 7 AM to 1 PM with a half-hour recess from 10 AM to 10:30 AM.
However, in five specified locations — Berhampur, Chhatrapur, Bhubaneswar, Koraput (Sadar), and Puri (Sadar) — the court timings will be from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This arrangement will continue until the last working day before the summer vacation.
The decision has been taken in view of the rising temperatures to ensure smoother functioning during the summer months. The notification applies to all District and Subordinate Courts in the state.
