Bhubaneswar: In a major administrative reform aimed at easing land transactions, the Odisha government will allow land registration at tehsil offices starting November 1.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari announced that the initiative will be launched across 44 tehsils in the first phase. The service will subsequently be expanded to all 273 tehsils in the state by December.
The new system is expected to resolve long-standing issues faced by citizens in land buying and selling processes. It will also help decentralize registration services, bringing them closer to people’s doorsteps.
An online slot booking system will be introduced simultaneously, allowing people to schedule their registration appointments digitally. “People will now be able to book slots online and register land at their respective tehsil offices,” said the Revenue Minister.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to inaugurate the initiative on November 1, marking a major step toward improving transparency and efficiency in land administration.
