Bhubaneswar: It’s going to be hot and humid today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid conditions in several districts of Odisha.

According to the IMD’s prediction, hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, and Jajpur districts.

The IMD predicted unbearable heat and humidity in the above-mentioned districts on Thursday, with heatwave conditions expected to intensify in Sambalpur and Jharsuguda on Friday.

The IMD has also predicted a rise in temperature across the state in the coming days.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to heat, and take regular breaks in cool and shaded areas.

Meanwhile, the regional weather office predicted that several cities, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, and Titlagarh, are likely to reach a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.

By May 9, temperatures in these cities, along with Deogarh, Nayagarh, and Angul, are predicted to reach 41 degrees Celsius.
