Bhubaneswar: Odisha will host the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2027. The decision was taken at the Asian Athletics Council in Hongkong today.
Apart from Odisha, Chandigarh will host the Asian Relays 2028.
Receiving the news of Odisha being awarded this prestigious continental event, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has congratulated Indian Athletics.
Expressing his happiness, the CM has said that it’s a very proud moment for India and Odisha.
With this award, Odisha has strengthened its position as a host for global sporting events, he added. It’s another cap in Odisha’s crown in the realm of global sports, CM said.
It may be mentioned here that Odisha has already been awarded World Athletics Indoor Championships 2028, which will be hosted at world-class Kalinga Stadium.
