Bhubaneswar: In an important step to improve education in the state, the Odisha government has officially decided to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The announcement was made by the Odisha School and Mass Education Department on Wednesday.
“After careful consideration, in the interest of strengthening the educational system in the State, the Government is pleased to order that the National Education Policy 2020, as issued by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India, will be implemented in the State of Odisha,” the official notification read.
The Government is further pleased to order that the National Curriculum Framework, with local contextualization, will be adopted as the State Curriculum Framework for the State of Odisha.
This means that the curriculum will follow national guidelines but will also take into account the specific needs and culture of Odisha, ensuring a more relevant and engaging education for students.
