Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cabinet on Saturday granted approval for the procurement of 79,033 Samsung A06 smartphones (Model: SM-A065F/DS) under the POSHAN Abhiyaan scheme at a total cost of Rs 93.13 crore.
The order has been placed with M/s. NF Infratech Services Pvt. Ltd. through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal.As per guidelines of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Government of India, smartphones are provided once every four years to frontline workers to strengthen real-time monitoring and service delivery under Saksham Anganwadi and POSHAN 2.0.
These devices will be distributed to Anganwadi Workers, Lady Supervisors, and Block Coordinators (Poshan) across the state.
The smartphones will enable seamless registration of beneficiaries, daily data entry on the Poshan Tracker, tracking of supplementary nutrition, distribution of Take-Home Ration via Face Recognition System (FRS), growth measurement of children, pre-school education activities, and monitoring of Anganwadi Centre infrastructure.
