Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department issued a heavy rainfall alert for four days beginning tomorrow.
Going by the latest prediction of IMD, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning very likely is to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Bargarh, Jharsuguda on August 6.
For August 7, IMD forecasts heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) and thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Koraput.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, and Sambalpur. That apart, heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Koraput and Rayagada”, read the IMD’s weather alert issued for August 8.
IMD prediction for August 9 says one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Bargarh will receive heavy rainfall (7-11.cm).
