Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Tuesday said that 74 more trains have been cancelled for two days due to maintenance work on the railway track at Bahanaga Bazar station – the site of the three-train accident on June 2. Some trains have been cancelled owing to the non-availability of rakes following the accident.
Meanwhile, three trains have also been diverted due to the maintenance work, ECoR said. The trains that have been diverted are as below:
- 18477 Puri-Yog Nagri Rishikesh Express, journey commencing on 05-06-2023 will run on a diverted route via Sambalpur-Jharsuguda Road- Ib.
- 18478 Yog Nagri Rishikesh – Puri Express, journey commencing on 05-06-2023 will run on a diverted route via Ib-Jharsuguda Road-Sambalpur.
- 18478 Yog Nagri Rishikesh – Puri Express, journey commencing on 06-06-2023 will run on a diverted route via Ib-Jharsuguda Road-Sambalpur.
Train services on the route resumed after up and down lines were restored 51 hours after the accident. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was present when the train movement was resumed after the completion of the restoration of the track on Sunday.
