Bhubaneswar: In the wake of the tragic train accident involving two express trains at Bahanaga in Balasore district, emergency health teams from five district have been mobilised to the mishap site.
A press note issued by the CMO stated: By orders of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary Health and Family Welfare, Shalini Pandit issued the following instructions to CDM&PHOs of Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, CUTTACK, and Mayurbhanj:
All MHT teams along with first aid and bedsheets to report to accident site at Bahanaga at the earliest.
All Dead Body Carriers of neighboring districts to be dispatched to site, carrying bedsheets.
All mortuaries to be kept in readiness.
Further, Pandit directed all BSKY empanelled private hospitals to keep beds ready to receive patients from accident site. More particularly, the empanelled hospitals in Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, and Bhubaneswar have been directed to receive the accident victims and provide immediate treatment.
In addition to the arrangements already done, the Health Secretary ordered mobilisation of another 115 ambulances from 108 fleet. The ambulances have started moving towards the accident spot. Lightweight stretchers also mobilized from nearby districts.
All Hospitals en route from Balasore to Cuttack have been kept on alert and readiness to receive patients, the CMO informed.
