Bhubaneswar: The all-party meeting held under the chairmanship of State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi focused on the preparation of error-free Ward-wise Electoral Roll for the General Election to Urban Local Bodies in Odisha.
As informed by Padhi, the draft Electoral Roll for the ULB Polls is to be published today. Any objections and suggestions will be received from February 11 to 16. The objections and suggestions will be scrutinised on February 18.
The final electoral roll will be prepared by February 24 and will be sent to the State Election Commission on February 28.
The polls are going to be held for 110 Urban Local Bodies in Odisha including 48 Municipalities, 59 Notified Area Councils (NACs), and three Municipal Corporations.
Padhi had earlier said that the draft Electoral Roll will be published after ward-wise splitting. For the first time, both soft and hard copies of the draft will be shared with the National and State-level parties.
The political parties will receive a free copy of the draft Electoral Roll while it will also be available for others on a payment basis.
