Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous house searches at four different locations linked to Bijay Kumar Mohanty, a Junior Engineer (JE) working in the CAD Division in Bhadrak, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.
Acting on specific allegations, team led by four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), four Inspectors and other supporting staff carried out the raids based on search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Balasore.
The searches are being conducted at Mohanty’s triple-storeyed residential building at Samaraipur in Bhadrak town, his double-storeyed house at his native village Narasingdiha under Basta police station in Balasore district, his office premises in Bhadrak and a relative’s house at Malipada in Bhubaneswar.
The raids are still underway and are expected to continue for some more time. Further report is awaited.
