Odisha Vigilance Secures Conviction Of Retired Engineer In DA Case

Bhubaneswar: In a significant anti-corruption development, Odisha Vigilance has secured the conviction of Sibnarayan Pal, former Junior Engineer (JE) of Rural Works Section of Badamba in Cuttack district in DA case.

Pal, who got retired as Assistant engineer of R&B Division-II of Bhubaneswar, was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets (DA).  He was convicted by Special Vigilance Judge, Dhenkanal and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years and to pay fine of Rs.5,00,000.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Pal following his conviction.
