Bhubaneswar: Odisha has witnessed a fall in growth rate and doubling time of Covid-19 cases, said Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra on Monday.
At present, there are over 75,000 active cases in Odisha while only 1200 of them are in hospitals. There is no “panic situation” in the State, he added.
Mishra, however, said that there is a need to monitor the situation as it is predicted that the cases may increase.
The situation should be observed for over a month, it is not right to comment based on the trend of one or two days, he added.
It is worthwhile to mention that the daily test positivity rate (TPR) recorded in Odisha today is 7.12 percent as compared to 14.49 percent the previous day.
