Rape

Bhubaneswar: A woman from Odisha was allegedly raped and dumped later in Delhi. She was found in a semi-conscious state, national media reported quoting police. The woman is about 34 years old, reports said.

A passerby spotted her in the Sarai Kale Khan area around 3:30 am on Friday and informed police, who rushed to the spot and took her to AIIMS Trauma Center for treatment.

Police suspect that the woman was sexually assaulted elsewhere and then abandoned in the Sarai Kale Khan area. The victim, originally from Odisha, had been living in Delhi for a year. Initially, she stayed with another woman in Katwaria Sarai, but after a dispute in August, she was asked to leave. Since then, she had been staying on the streets for several days.

The police are investigating to identify the perpetrator by examining the CCTV footage in the area.
