Bhubaneswar: The Government of Odisha has launched Odisha Yatri – One App. Many Journeys. A Smarter Odisha, ushering in a new era of integrated, inclusive, and citizen-centric urban mobility across the State.
Designed with a strong focus on digital governance, commuter convenience, and last-mile connectivity, Odisha Yatri is a unified digital mobility platform that integrates multiple modes of transport on a single application, making everyday travel faster, simpler, and future-ready for citizens.
As part of this initiative, FASTicket, a QR-based in-bus digital ticketing system, has been introduced for Ama Bus services. With QR codes installed inside every Ama Bus, commuters can now book tickets after boarding the bus through the Odisha Yatri App. The system enables ticket generation in just three seconds, significantly reducing ticketing time from nearly 30 seconds to 3 seconds, while eliminating queues, cash handling, and manual verification.
FASTicket forms a key building block of Odisha Yatri’s broader vision of a statewide multimodal mobility ecosystem, through which commuters can already access bus, auto, and cab services seamlessly on a single digital platform.
To promote affordable and inclusive public transport, Odisha Yatri offers a 10% discount for male commuters and a 15% discount for female commuters, reinforcing the State’s commitment to equitable access and gender-responsive urban mobility.
Emphasising the critical role of last-mile connectivity in sustainable urban transport, Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department, Government of Odisha, said:
“Last-mile connectivity is the backbone of efficient urban mobility. Odisha Yatri is designed to bridge the gap between public transport systems and citizens’ doorsteps by integrating multiple modes of travel on a single digital platform. With initiatives like FASTicket, we are simplifying daily commutes, enhancing convenience, and encouraging greater adoption of public transport through technology-driven, affordable solutions.”
By enabling paperless and cashless ticketing, seamless integration across transport modes, and improved last-mile access, Odisha Yatri marks a decisive step towards a connected, efficient, and future-ready public mobility system, enhancing the daily travel experience of millions of commuters across Odisha.
