Bhubaneswar: Iswar Chandra Nayak of Odisha is to receive the National Award for Teachers-2022 from President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of Teachers’ Day this September 5.
School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash has congratulated Nayak and has highly appreciated his determination and social duty towards the teaching profession. Das wished him all the best for his future and said that Nimapada and the entire state are proud of him.
A textile engineer turned teacher and author, Nayak has been teaching students at the Government Upper Primary School in Kanapur in Nimapada block of Puri district, for the last 22 years as an assistant teacher.
After it became known that his name has been published as the only teacher from Odisha to receive the award, there has been a wave of happiness among the people of the State.
Nayak has already won many national and state awards. His recently written books have received much appreciation at the national and international levels. He has established Student Knowledge Center and Library in his village Bangurush Patana. This knowledge center provides free computer education to primary school students.
It is worth mentioning that 46 talented teachers in the country have been considered worthy of the National Award for Teachers.
