Bhubaneswar: A talented driver from Odisha, who got trained at Odisha Government’s Driving Training Center at Chhatia, has made the state proud by securing a job in a reputed company in Japan. Rakesh Kumar Das, a native of Keonjhar district, has been appointed as a driver in Japan after completing his training from the Government training institute.
The Odisha Government’s Driving Training and Research Institute, with centres in Bonai, Chhatia, Palur, and Keonjhar, provides free training to students, covering all expenses, including food. After completing his training, Rakesh was selected by Maruti Company of Japan. As part of the selection process, he underwent language and etiquette training with Navis HR, a reputed Indian company that has an agreement with the Odisha Government.
Rakesh expressed his gratitude to the government, saying that the driving training has brought a significant change in his life. Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Principal Secretary Usha Padhee, and Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur congratulated Rakesh on his appointment.
The driving training centres in Odisha have been instrumental in providing employment opportunities not only in the state but also across the country. The Department of Commerce and Transport and the Department of Skill Development are working together to expand this programme and bring positive changes in the lives of many young men and women.
