Bhubaneswar: Under the impact of the Deep Depression Mayurbhanj district has received an average rainfall of 125 mm and Balasore district has received an average rainfall of 97 mm, informed Joint SRC Padmanava Behera.
“This has resulted in little increase in the water levels of rivers Budhabalanga and Subarnarekha. It can cause floods in the low-lying areas of Balasore,” said Behera in a press briefing.
The Joint SRC informed that to tackle the possible flood situation 2 ODRAF, 2 NDRF and 4 Fire Service teams have been deployed in the Balasore district.
Similarly, in Mayurbhanj district 1 ODRAF, 1 NDRF and 4 Fire Service teams have been deployed to tackle possible flood situation, he added.
Behera said that Collectors, Sub Collectors, BDO, Tahasildars, field officials and local police are keeping a close watch over the situation.
The situation is also being monitored and reviewed at the Special Relief Commissioner’s office, he added.
