Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has been conferred with the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives at the 16th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility held in New Delhi on 3rd June 2022.
One of the largest mining companies in India, OMC has been adjudged with the coveted award for its relentless efforts in focusing on the sustainable development of the communities in which OMC operates.
Alok Kumar Pal, Director (Personnel) and Talat Afreen, Head CSR, received the award on behalf of the organisation at the event organized by the Institute of Directors (IOD) in New Delhi on 3rd June 2022.
Balwant Singh, Managing Director, OMC, said, “OMC has been focusing on transforming the lives of the people living in its periphery. The Organization has always gone beyond its statutory mandate of 2% in overall CSR & Sustainability spend to reach out to the larger cross-section of marginalized & underprivileged segment of the society.”
