Bhubaneswar: Fuel prices will drop at nine places in Odisha with the oil marketing companies (OMCs) deciding to rationalise intrastate freight to help reduce retail price disparities within states, barring the poll-bound regions.
Announcing the decision in his X handle, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri said that intrastate freight adjustments will benefit consumers in remote areas as it will result in a decrease in petrol and diesel prices in several parts of the country.
“In Kunanpally & Kalimela in Odisha’s Malkangiri petrol price will reduce by Rs 4.69 & Rs 4.55; and diesel price will reduce by Rs 4.45 & Rs 4.32, respectively….,” he posted on his X handle.
Petrol and diesel will also be cheaper in Odisha’s Gondhipally, Nandapur, Maliput, Ramgiri, Badasaga, Raigarh and Jharigram.
The OMCs also announced a revision in the dealer margins, effective from October 30, 2024, following the resolution of a pending legal matter. It said the decision will have no impact on retail selling price of products.
