One Dead, 3 Injured After Coming In Contact With 33 KV Live Wire In Rayagada

Rayagada: A worker was electrocuted and three others were injured after they came in contact with 33KV live electric wire while painting a three-storeyed building at Lane no. 10 of Roita Colony in Rayagada district headquarters town on Thursday.

The injured workers have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital. The condition of two of the injured workers is stated to be critical.

The deceased worker has been identified as Tushar Khara, aged 40 years. The injured workers have been identified as Binod Nag, Laxman Kandha and Binod Khara. All are residents of Ambaguda area of Rayagada town.

According to reports, one Susanta Kumar Padhi had engaged a contractor for painting his three-storeyed house. While the workers were painting the house perched on the scaffolding, they came in contact with 33KV live electric wire.  The injured workers were immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital where doctors declared one of them brought dead.

The family of the dead worker has demanded compensation.
