One Dead, One Missing After Three West Bengal Tourists Drown In Sea

Bhubaneswar: Three tourists from West Bengal’s Medinipur district drowned after being swept away by currents at Tajpur beach.

Two of the tourists were rescued, but one remains missing. Among the rescued, one was declared dead while the other is undergoing treatment in a medical facility. All the tourists are from Barasat.

According to reports, three young men from Barasat of West Bengal visited Digha, which was crowded and then headed to nearby Tajpur Beach. Seeing the high waves, the three youths decided to take bath in the sea. However, they were swept away by the strong currents.

Witnesses alerted the local police, who managed to rescue two of the youths, while one remains missing. Among the rescued, one has died, and the other is in critical condition at a nearby medical facility.
