Group Clash In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj (Baripada): One person was killed and three others, including two women, sustained serious injuries in a group clash over past enmity in the Kalikapur area under Baripada Town Police Station limits on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Raju Ghadei.

According to sources, a violent altercation broke out between two groups, which soon escalated into a physical confrontation involving firearms and sharp weapons.

Three people, including two women, were critically injured in the incident. They were initially rushed to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada. As their condition worsened, they were referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.

Police have detained two youths for questioning and are investigating the incident.

“Strict action will be taken against those involved in such anti-social activities. The police are on high alert and we are committed to ensuring that all culprits are brought to justice,” said Satyajit Naik, DIG, Eastern Range (Balasore).
