Bhubaneswar: One person died and two others were injured in a tractor accident near a river embankment under Jajpur Sadar police station in Jajpur district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Nayak, while the injured are Arjun Jena and Soumya Ranjan Panda.
According to reports, a tractor- trolley carrying sand overturned near the river embankment in the Jajpur Sadar area, trapping three occupants beneath the vehicle. Promptly, locals rushed to the scene and alerted the fire brigade personnel and police.
Upon receiving the information, the fire brigade and police arrived at the location and, with the assistance of the locals, successfully extricated the injured persons from beneath the tractor.
All three were immediately transported to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Unfortunately, Arjun Nayak was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctors.
The other injured persons are currently undergoing treatment.
