Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, one person was killed, and another sustained critical injuries after a tractor overturned near Kalameri village, which falls under Mohana Tehsil of Gajapati district, in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Tukuna Dalei (45) of Patupadar village, falling under the jurisdiction of Mohana police station.
According to reports, Tukuna, the driver of the vehicle accompanied by a labourer named Elisa, was returning to Patupadar after ploughing a farming field located at the D. Colony area of Kalameri when the tractor overturned due to overload.
Upon learning about the incident, locals rushed Tukuna and the accompanying worker to Mohana Hospital for immediate treatment.
Tukuna was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while the critically injured Elisa remains under medical supervision.
Police officials have initiated an investigation into the matter.
