Cuttack/Sundargarh: One person was killed and two others critically injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha’s Cuttack and Rourkela in the early hours of Sunday.
In the first mishap, a car plunged into a canal in Cuttack on Sunday. The incident has been reported from Cuttack Kandarpur police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Deepak Behera (27), a resident of Sidharpur area in Cuttack.
On being informed, Kandarpur police reached the spot, recovered the body of the deceased, and launched an investigation.
In the second incident, two people sustained critical injuries after the car they were travelling by fell off a bridge near Nagariya in Phuljhar under Biulopada police limits in Sundargarh district. The injured have been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital.
According to reports, the vehicle fell off the bridge while going to Rourkela from Kadadia village in Keonjhar at around 2.00 am on Sunday.
The victims have been identified as Ajit Mahant and Omkar Behera of Kadadia village.
