Palalahada: One more person has succumbed to scrub typhus in Palalahada block of Anugola district, taking the death toll from the disease in the area to three, officials said.
The latest victim has been identified as Usha Naik, a woman from Rajadanga village, where concern has mounted over the spread of scrub typhus. With cases reportedly being detected in different villages, fear and anxiety have gripped residents in the area.
Villagers have expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in deployment of a medical team to Rajadanga. They have urged the health authorities to send a team to the village immediately for screening, medical check-ups and necessary treatment of suspected patients.
