Bhubaneswar: A one-year-old child was electrocuted while playing at home in Hanumantia Sahi under Mahabirod police station in Dhenkanal district on Saturday.
The tragic incident occurred in Bama Panchayat when the deceased’s parents, Purna Sain and his wife, were outside the home, working on their land. They had left the infant alone inside.
The child came into contact with an electrical board while playing and lost consciousness. Neighbours informed Purna and his wife about the incident, and they rushed to the home, immediately taking the baby to Kamakhyanagar Sub-Divisional Hospital in an ambulance. Unfortunately, the doctor declared the baby dead upon arrival.
