Bhubaneswar: A tragic road accident occurred late last night on National Highway No. 49 passing through Keonjhar district when an onion-laden truck overturned near Judia Ghati after losing control.
According to reports, the truck was on its way from Nashik to West Bengal.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Judia Ghati, causing the truck to overturn on the highway. Fortunately, no one including the driver was injured in the accident. The driver is reported to be safe.
However, hundreds of kilos of onions spilled onto the road after the truck overturned.
Many sacks were crushed under the wheels of the truck and were destroyed.
The remaining onions were reportedly collected by locals in the morning. Traffic on the National Highway was affected for some time following the incident.
Police reached the spot and are investigating the cause of the accident.
