Bhubaneswar: Days after the violence at Master Canteen Square in Bhubaneswar, Online Auto Association President Dinabandhu Nayak has broken his silence. In a 14-minute video message, the association president has reacted to the incident and apologized to the general public.
In his video message, Nayak expressed deep regret over the unfortunate incident at Master Canteen, stating that he is deeply saddened by the inconvenience and disruption caused to the general public, and offered an unconditional apology for the same. He, however, clarified that there is no politics behind the protest.
In the same video message, he also spoke in favour of the drivers, stating that they resorted to the agitation as their demands were not being fulfilled.
It is worth mentioning that police have arrested 113 people in connection with the clash and forwarded them to court. As many as 354 vehicles have been seized in the incident. In this regard, 7 FIRs have been registered at Kharavel Nagar Police Station.
On the other hand, the Transport Department has issued a show-cause notice asking why the permit and RC of the vehicles driven by the accused owners should not be cancelled.
Meanwhile, association president Nayak has been absconding since the Master Canteen incident. Police are conducting raids at various places to nab him.
