Bhubaneswar: The newly appointed President of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Bhakta Charan Das, underwent successful surgery for a hand injury sustained during the recent Sankalpa Padayatra.
The Odisha Congress party confirmed the news on their official social media X, stating, “Senior leader and PCC President Shri @BHAKTACHARANDAS Ji’s surgery has been successful. His surgery went well and we all wish him speedy recovery.”
The 66-year-old leader was injured in a crowd of enthusiastic party workers during the Sankalpa Padayatra, which began in Bhubaneswar and ended in Puri. This event occurred just before he took charge of the party office.
The Sankalpa Padayatra aims to reconnect with former party members and strengthen the Congress party at the grassroots level.
