Malkangiri: Police have busted an interstate illegal online betting racket, arresting four persons, including two kingpins from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, as part of Operation Cyber Kavach.

The arrested accused, two from Raipur and two from Koraput, were operating illegal betting platforms such as https://100panel.com, https://vikash247.com, https://11xplay.com, and https://99exch.com, managing transactions through multiple bank accounts and digital payment channels.

The police seized four mobile phones, two laptops, five bank passbooks, and three bank cheque books. Preliminary investigation reveals daily transactions of up to ₹15 lakh, totalling over Rs 1 crore.

The racket used innocent citizens’ bank accounts, lenticularly those from tribal areas, with false promises of MGNREGA payments. The accused created multiple WhatsApp groups to coordinate payments and betting across states.

Malkangiri Police appeal to the public not to share their bank account details with unknown individuals, warning that these accounts may be used for cybercrime and other illicit activities.

The operation, launched on February 13, 2026, has verified 142 mule accounts, with further investigation underway to uncover deeper networks and arrest other associates.
