Bhubaneswar: The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha for the next two days, issuing orange warning for eight districts till tomorrow morning and yellow warning for three districts thereafter.
For Day 1, valid up to 8:30 am of September 26, an orange warning has been issued Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nuapada and Nawarangpur districts. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in these districts.
Besides, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching up to 50-60 kmph is also very likely at one or two places over these eight districts.
A yellow warning (Be aware) has also been issued for Day 1. Heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching up to 40-50 kmph is very likely at one or two places over the same districts.
For Day 2, valid from 8:30 am of September 26 to 8:30 am of September 27, a yellow warning has been issued. Heavy rainfall is very likely at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda and Baragada, along with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty surface wind reaching up to 40-50 kmph.
