Orissa HC Judge Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo Appointed As Chief Justice Of Patna High Court

Bhubaneswar: The Central government has approved the appointment of Orissa High Court Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court.

Recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on December 18, 2025, Justice Sahoo’s appointment is part of a larger proposal to elevate five High Court judges to Chief Justice positions nationwide.

Born on June 5, 1964, Justice Sahoo graduated with LL.B. from Cuttack Law College and enrolled as an advocate in 1989. He began his career under the guidance of his father, Late Sarat Chandra Sahoo, and Dr. Manoranjan Panda, specialising in Criminal Law and Service Matters.

He practised in various courts across Odisha before being elevated to the Orissa High Court on July 2, 2014.
