Bhubaneswar: Excise officials today found a huge quantity of silver ornaments from the secret chambers of a car while examining the vehicle on suspicion of smuggling ganja at a toll gate on Biju Expressway near Rengali.
After finding the silver ornaments, the Excise sleuths informed the CT-GST enforcement squad which rushed to the spot and detained the vehicle with three persons.
The ornaments weighing around 1 quintal 66 kgs and 400 grams were being transported to Ranchi from Maharashtra, said CT-GST (Enforcement) Deputy Commissioner Tekchand Meher.
“We have detained three persons who have produced some manual documents. We are verifying them. Appropriate action will be taken if there are some irregularities,” he added
