Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today revealed that 1,83,785 beneficiaries have been excluded from the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana being implemented in the state.
In a written reply to Odisha Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Saturday informed about 1,65,87,877 women have received the first installment of financial assistance under the Odisha government’s ambitious Subhadra Yojana.
However, the number of beneficiaries has reduced significantly in the second installment. As many as 98,82,092 women beneficiaries have received the second installment.
Describing the financial distribution in detail, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the Odisha government has provided financial assistance of Rs 5,032.93 crore for the first installment, which has ensured direct financial assistance to the eligible beneficiaries.
A total of Rs 4,941.04 crore has been sanctioned for the second installment, which is a step towards women’s welfare and financial stability.
Officials suggest that various factors, including documentation issues, revaluation of eligibility and procedural irregularities, could have contributed to the decline of number of beneficiaries in the second instalment.
However, the state government has assured that necessary steps are being taken to resolve the grievances and ensure that the beneficiaries get their due financial assistance.
