Mayurbhanj: More than 20 houses were reduced to ashes in a fire at a slum in Bindhanisahi under Kendudiha panchayat in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
According to reports, more than 20 houses were gutted in the fire in Bindhani Basti. All the belongings of the residents, including money, stored food items, and other important articles such as documents were burnt to ashes. The damage has been severe due to the delay of the Fire Services personnel in reaching the spot.
While the reason behind the blaze is yet to be ascertained, police have initiated a probe into the incident. At the same time, efforts are on to rehabilitate the residents of the slum.
