Bhubaneswar: The farmer registration process for Kharif season paddy procurement has been accelerated across Odisha with more than 5.5 lakh farmers registering so far.
Officials said registration is currently underway in all districts and is being conducted at 2907 PACS, LAMPS and 4 Pani Panchayats in the state. Nearly one lakh farmers are registering every day.
The process will continue till August 3. District-wise, Bargarh has recorded about 60,000 registrations, followed by Balasore with 43,000, Kalahandi with 40,000 and Puri with around 24,000 farmers.
All necessary arrangements have been made for farmers at PACS. As per the process, registration is being done on a real-time basis and farmers can verify all details before final submission of the online application. Dedicated Help Desks have been set up at societies to provide assistance during registration.
The drive is being carried out in coordination with the Food Supply and Consumer Welfare, Cooperation, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, and Revenue and Disaster Management Departments.
