Bhubaneswar: The State government on Wednesday revealed that 6,283,012 farmers have been included in KALIA Yojana since its implementation.
While replying to an unstarred question of Prafulla Samal (BJD), Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain informed the State Assembly that a total of 43,88,238 small and marginal farmers and 18,94,774 landless farmers have been included in KALIA Yojana since its implementation.
The government has made arrangements for the farmers who are not in the list to apply through a dedicated portal i.e www.kalia.odisha.gov.in with all required documents to avail the benefits, Swain told the House.
All small, marginal and landless farmers can apply online for the next 90 days of each installment of the KALIA scheme, the Minister said while replying to Samal who wanted to know the total number of farmers and number of KALIA beneficiaries in the State.
Samal also sought to know the measures taken by the government for the inclusion of the farmers deprived of the scheme.
As per the data of 2015-16 agriculture census, Odisha has a total of 48.66 operational holdings, out of which 36.37 lakh are marginal, 8.87 lakh small farmers, the minister said.
Similarly, there are 3.38 lakh medium and 0.04 lakh large farmers in the State, he added.
