Bhubaneswar: The third National Lok Adalat of the year in Khordha district disposed of 62,487 cases through compromise, settling claims and dues amounting to over ₹28.85 crore, officials said on Saturday.
The Lok Adalat was organised by the Khordha District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at all judicial courts in the district. A total of 83,061 cases were presented before the Lok Adalat, of which 62,487 were disposed of.
An amount of ₹28,85,10,978 was settled through compromise towards revenue, criminal and bank loan dues and other similar claims, the DLSA said.
The Lok Adalat was held under the direct supervision of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman of the Khordha DLSA Biranchi Narayan Mohanty.
DLSA Secretary Salomi Sahu thanked judicial officers, advocates, banks, insurance companies, telephone companies and revenue officials for their cooperation in making the event successful.
She urged all stakeholders to make advance preparations for the fourth National Lok Adalat, scheduled to be held on December 12, 2026, and appealed to people to make use of the dispute-resolution mechanism.
