Bhubaneswar: More than seven lakh farmers have completed their paddy registration for the Kharif 2026-27 season in Odisha, Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra said on Saturday.
Patra said the registration process is currently underway across the state and has been simplified to facilitate farmers. More than 1.20 lakh farmers completed their registration on Saturday, he said.
The minister urged farmers who are yet to register to complete the process by August 31, which is the last date for registration.
“Paddy registration for Kharif 2026-27 is currently underway in the state. More than seven lakh farmers have completed their registration so far. The process has been simplified and farmers are not facing any major issues,” Patra said.
He appealed to farmers to keep all required documents ready and visit their nearest Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS), Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) or Pani Panchayats to complete the registration.
“I request all farmers to complete their paddy registration before August 31. They should keep their documents ready and visit their nearest LAMPS, PACS or Pani Panchayats to complete the process,” the minister said.
Patra assured farmers that the registration process would be completed smoothly and that the state government would procure paddy from registered farmers.
The minister also appealed to eligible farmers who have not yet completed their registration to do so before the deadline to participate in the Kharif paddy procurement process.
