Bhubaneswar: A committee constituted to examine various demands and problems of teachers of primary, upper primary, high school and higher secondary schools in Odisha on Monday submitted its report to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at a high-level meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The Chief Minister said the government would examine the recommendations and take appropriate decisions on them.
The committee was constituted on December 6, 2025, on the Chief Minister’s direction and reconstituted on February 3, 2026. It recently interacted with 104 associations representing different categories of teachers and held 90 meetings to examine their demands. It submitted 79 reports to the government, according to the official statement.
Chairman Ashok Tripathy and Co-Chairman Sudarshan Nayak presented the committee’s recommendations before the Chief Minister at Monday’s meeting.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, and secretaries of the Higher Education and School & Mass Education departments attended the meeting. Other committee members, including Shantanu Kumar Sahu, Manoranjan Mishra and coordinating member Sanatan Panda, were also present.
