Mayurbhanj: Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the Similipal Tiger Conservation Project personnel, the Forest department staff raided a lodge in Rairangpur of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district and recovered a pangolin and arrested eight persons in connection with wildlife smuggling on Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the raid was conducted when the wildlife smugglers were in the process of making a deal with the buyers of wildlife at the lodge.
The raiding team also seized a Bolero vehicle, one scooter, and eight mobile phones from the accused, Samrat Gowda, said Deputy Director of Similipal Tiger Conservation Project South Range.
