Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has issued guidelines for event organisers and the public to ensure a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve celebration.

As per the guidelines, event organisers are required to obtain prior police permission to host parties, concerts and DJ events. They are asked to adhere to approved timings, noise standards, and venue capacity limits. They must also ensure the safety of women and children with separate arrangements and cooperate fully during police checks and supervision.

Additionally, organisers are mandated to install CCTV cameras, hire private security personnel, and implement fire safety measures.

The police have also issued a public advisory, urging people to avoid drunk driving and use designated drivers, cabs, or public transport instead. They are also advised to adhere to traffic rules such as no speeding, triple riding, or driving without helmets, maintain decorum, and ensure the safety of women, children, and senior citizens. People are asked to refrain from loud music and reckless behaviour.

The advisory also asks people to avoid crowded areas, obey police directions, and report any suspicious activities or emergencies to the police.

Besides, the Commissionerate Police has asked the public to celebrate festivals peacefully without bursting crackers or creating disturbances in restricted areas.

The Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, has issued guidelines for hotels, clubs, and restaurants organising New Year’s Eve celebrations.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable event, hotel, club and restaurant owners are asked to obtain valid licenses and permits. Only cultural programs are permitted, and guest numbers should be within the venue’s capacity, with entry restricted to authorised guests only. Additionally, organisers must install CCTV cameras, hire private security personnel, and implement fire safety measures.

The guidelines also specify that no indecent attire or gestures are allowed during cultural programs. Furthermore, proper parking arrangements should be made, and parking on roads is strictly prohibited.

Organisers are required to keep the music volume at or below 65 decibels and stop music playback by midnight, as per the guidelines.

The police urge organisers to follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.
