Bhubaneswar: The city’s much-loved cultural festival, Patha Utsav, is all set to return in the last week of December and continue through the first half of January. Organised by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), the event promises to bring music, dance, art, and a variety of recreational activities back to the streets, offering residents a vibrant start to the New Year.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, BMC Commissioner Chanchal Rana said, “The Patha Utsav will be held in the same spirit as previous years, with new elements added each time. Cultural and youth programs should not be limited to government initiatives alone. Bhubaneswar has its own vibe and soul, and other organisations are encouraged to participate to engage the youth and connect citizens.”
The festival will be held separately across all three zones of the city. Activities are scheduled every Sunday from 7 am to 10 am, giving visitors a chance to enjoy a variety of events, including dance performances, live music, painting exhibitions, skating, and other recreational pursuits.
Commissioner Rana added that the administration aims to make Patha Utsav a regular feature, taking place on the last Sunday of December and the first two Sundays of January every year, allowing residents to start the New Year with a blend of culture, creativity, and community spirit.
