Sundargarh: In a tragic incident, a patient reportedly died after falling from the third floor of the Government Medical College and Hospital building in Sundargarh on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Soreng, a resident of Dainidihi village under Sadar police limits. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday and was scheduled to be discharged today.
Anil’s mother informed him that he would be discharged soon, but he seemed unconvinced. Frustrated, he told his mother that she had been saying they would leave for home but hadn’t made any move to take him.
Feeling agitated, Anil reportedly got out of bed, opened the window, and climbed onto the roof. He lost his balance and fell, getting stuck on the ledge for about 30 minutes, crying out for help. Despite his mother’s pleas, no hospital staff or authorities arrived to rescue him, and eventually, he lost his grip and fell to his death.
